At some point early on in their careers, it seems like most football coaches internalize this idea that showing interest in anything beyond football is showing weakness to your opponent. It's no surprise that Jon Gruden appears to be one of these coaches.
If Jon Gruden did, in fact, give a damn about Star Wars, he'd realize that the Death Star was completely destroyed by some hick kid piloting a spacecraft for the very first time, and perhaps he'd think more carefully about embracing such a name. Oh well, that's his loss.
